Introducing New Michigan Staff

First Children’s Finance welcomes Israil Steen, Rhonda Meyers and Truman Hudson, Jr. to our Michigan Regional Office team!

 

Israil Steen brings a diverse background in banking and public finance, combined with experience in planning, management, training and evaluation for public education programs in a variety of settings. As Director of Education Development at Vanguard Community Development Corporation, she developed a place-based community strategy to improve early education opportunities for children birth to five years old, and led community trainings focused on family literacy and sustainability. As a Business Development Specialist for First Children’s Finance, Israil will be working with child care business to increase their business capacity and quality by implementing our financial and business-development programs. Rhonda Meyers has over 20 years of experience as a child care center director, board member and consultant. She currently teaches on the adjunct faculty of Baker College, Schoolcraft College and Henry Ford Community College.  She has expertise in child care facility design, program management and accreditation. Rhonda is also the founding owner of Heartfelt Impressions Learning Center in Lake Orion. As the owner of DEX Design Associates, Inc., Truman Hudson, Jr. has assisted numerous nonprofits, childcare centers, and small businesses develop and implement plans that have lead to the securitization of well over $678 million. Truman has served as adjunct faculty at Wayne State University and Wayne County Community College District. Truman is currently completing his doctorate in education with a concentration in metropolitan studies at the University of Michigan Dearborn. As a First Children’s Finance Business Development Specialist Fellow, Truman will be working on the Multi-Service Growth Fund project, Communications and Marketing as well as other assignments.
