First Children’s Finance is in Indiana
First Children’s Finance is pleased to announce the launch of our new Indiana Capacity Growth Program. Thanks to our new partnership with Early Learning Indiana, the Partnerships for Early Learners Initiative, and funding from the Lilly Endowment, five child care centers, ministries and schools– from Elkhart to Evansville—now form the first Indiana Cohort dedicated to strengthening and sustaining high-quality early care and education programs committed to expansion.
The child care programs participating in the Cohort are:
Brownstown Christian Church Daycare Ministry, Brownstown
Carver Daycare, Evansville
Ellwood Elementary School, Elwood
Fuzzy Bear, Ladoga
Madison Consolidated Early Development Center, Madison
The participants in First Children’s Finance’s Capacity Growth Program, including directors, board members and administrators, take a unique business approach to achieving their goals of expansion. Through one-on-one consulting and interactive workshops, participants will assess their child care businesses, use financial analysis to enhance decision-making, study their market and complete a business improvement plan to achieve their goals of growth and long term sustainability.
As part of our new Indiana Program, we wish to welcome and thank our new group of volunteer advisors who have joined this exciting journey in support of the Cohort. The advisory group consists of leaders in business and early care and education who will share their knowledge and input to further support participant goals.
Our first Indiana volunteer advisors are:
Carl Ellison, Indiana Minority Health Coalition
Denise Herd, Herd Strategies
Erin Kissling, Indiana Department of Education
Karen Moore, Paths to Quality, Early Learning Indiana
Lionel Smith, Attorney
Stephanie Williams, Community Member
Sunny Reed, Adjunct Professor Accounting, ITT Technical Institute
